Rihanna Makes Scholarship Available for Students Around the Globe!

Rihanna has done it again. She has now just launched a scholarship program called the Clara Lionel Foundation, which is a scholarship that is open to U.S. and international students from the islands, who want to further their education in the U.S.
To be eligible, the applicant must be a resident of Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Guyana, Jamaica, or the U.S., and already have been accepted into a bachelor’s program at an accredited school for the academic year of 2016-2017. According to USA Today, the scholarship is a need-based scholarship and number of students who will actually get the award(s) will vary. The scholarship monetary value will range from $5,000 to $50,000, and may be renewed for up to THREE YEARS or “until a bachelor’s degree is earned.”

Well, the application is now open until June 10, 2016 (so a full month) and winners will be announced by August of 2016. Also according to USA Today, the committee will screen and go through 50 finalists based on “academic performance, demonstrated leadership, and participation in school and community activities, work experience, and a personal essay.”
The award singing artists and designer, founded CLF in 2012 to honor her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite, and the grants are used to help fund international programs with focuses on health, education, arts, and culture.
