Debra Lee is best known for her active role as BET’s chairman and CEO for about a decade but, she recently added yet another title to her resume. Earlier this week it was announced that Lee had earned a seat on Twitter’s Board of Directors. Since Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey took over the company, it has been working to revamp its board and to boost its diversity. With Lee joining the board, she is now the third woman to hold the title and the first Black appointee. As of now Twitter only has 2% of Black employees and with this new marketing plan they plan to boost those numbers.
