Omari Hardwick & Meagan Good Star in “A Boy. A Girl. A Dream.”

Do you enjoy a good thriller? Suspenseful movies with an edge and a dash of unexpected love in between? If so, “A Boy. A Girl. A Dream.” is a must see! On the night of the 2016 presidential election, Cass (Hardwick), an L.A. Club promoter, takes a thrilling and emotional journey with Frida (Good), a midwestern visitor. She challenges him to revisit his broken dreams, all while he pushes her to discover hers. As Frida sits outside on a calm night in LA, she’s approached by Cass and the two hit it off from the very beginning. Along the way, Sparks continue to fly between them; from sharing their dreams and goals, to getting to know each other on a personal level and eventually falling in love while helping each other reach their ultimate destiny. In a cast interview with Sundance Film before the release of the movie, Good stated, “What are we doing to play our role? What are we doing to walk in the literal purpose of who we are as a human being and are we answering the call on our lives?” This statement is the ultimate truth. Many times in our lives we get so easily discouraged in our daily living, due to our present circumstances however, knowing who you are will help discover your purpose. Often times we don't make getting to know our true inner self a priority therefore, we fall short of the glory already placed upon our lives.

Omari Hardwick states a literal fact that was told to him by producer Datari Turner, “only 8% of the people in our world go to sleep at night with the thoughts of ‘I followed and I am living my dream’” Good & Hardwick make it clear that, a lot of times along their journeys of chasing their dreams, no one sees the preparation and the steps that it took for them to get where they are today; we only see the conclusion. But the journey and the original “dream” before the conclusion is what matters. This film captures the idea of finding your purpose and walking in it solely, all while supporting someone in their dreams, goals & visions as well. Have you found your purpose? Director of this film, Qasim Basir, is an American Filmmaker. He also wrote and directed, ‘Mooz-Ium’ starring Danny Glover and Nia Long about an African American Muslim family and how their lives changed following the September 11th attacks.
