Is Liam Neeson racist? Oscar nominated actor Liam Neeson, who once admitted to wanting to kill some “Black Bastard” to seek revenge for a friend who was once raped, has reported to have canceled a scheduled appearence on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, because of the fallout from his comments. How awful is that? Some say that Liam has abruptly made racists comments before and this is not the first time and others say that their’s no way Liam could be racist given his position in the entertainment industry and that their is a huge misunderstanding behind his comments, that they may have been misinterpreted. Lionsgate on tuesday reportedly canceled a red carpet event for Neeson’s movie premiere “Cold Pursuit”, in New York City. The cancellation came hours after Neeson appeared on “Good Morning America” to apologize and insist that he is not racist. But it doesn’t end their for Liam Neeson, Neeson has been replaced as a chat show host guest, Neeson is to be digitally removed from ‘Men In Black’ and he has recieved extreme backlash behind his comments. “We were doing a press junket and the topic for our film was revenge”, Neeson said of his interview with The Independent. ‘The lady journalist was asking, ‘How do you tap into that?’ and I remmebered an incident with a 40 years ago a friend of mine was brutally raped I was out of the country and when I came back she told me about this….. I had never felt this feeling before which was a primal urge to lash out” In my opinion, we have all been in a place where our love ones have been hurt and we have had an urge to be vengeful on the person that hurt them but never to the point of making racial slurs calling out one particular race and that’s where Liam fell short. Neeson is an amazing actor, nearly every role he plays in movies is action filled and he has a chance to get revenge for his family etc. depending on the film, that is his role. But these comments made are hurtful to the Black Community and will take an account on views etc on the films Neeson has to come in the near future.
