It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Madea

Tyler Perry is saying goodbye to his beloved character that we all love so much. He is leaving Madea behind. "It's time for me to kill that old b****," the director told SiriusXM host Bevy Smith on Monday's episode of Bevelations. "I'm tired, man. I'm tired." The character's death may come sooner than fans think. Perry revealed he actually shot A Madea Family Funeral two years ago; however, he didn't want to go straight from Boo! A Madea Halloween and Boo. 2! A Madea Halloween to another Madea movie. So, he decided to release Acrimony, starring Taraji P. Henson, and, Nobody's Fool, his new movie starring Tiffany Haddish, first. Madea was first introduced to to us in 1999 a stage play directed by Perry called “I Can Do Bad All By Myself”then released and starred in several films as the character, including Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea's Family Reunion, Meet the Browns, Madea Goes to Jail, Madea's Witness Protection and more. According to Variety, Perry based the character on his own mother.

Now Tyler has a new movie coming out that stars him with other character favorites such as Aunt Bam played by Cassi Davis, Patrice Lovely as Hattie along with David Otunga and Rome Flynn. In this film it shows a joyous family reunion turns into an unexpected nightmare when Madea and the gang find themselves planning a funeral in the backwoods of Georgia. This would be the last time we get to see Madea in a movie ever again. It seems unfair because we all enjoyed Madea and Perry played her so incredibly well that it made Madea seem real in reality. Mr. Perry is now on tour for the last show of Madea the called “A Madea Farewell Tour”. On this tour he is bringing back his big favs such as Tamela Mann (Cora) and David Mann (Mr.Brown) so this is going to be epic and history in the making. Although Madea is gone she will not be forgotten.

Make sure you catch Tyler Perry's New Hit Film “A Madea Family Funeral” in theaters March 1st.
