Janelle Monae Joins Amazon’s Hit Series “Homecoming”

None other than the illustrious Janelle Monae will be replacing Julia Roberts as the lead of Amazon series Homecoming. Robert’s one season contract has ended with the series but she will still remain an executive producer for the show.

Actress/Singer/Songwriter Janelle Monae will play the role of a lady who ends up on a canoe with no recollection of her identity or how she got there. Homecomingseems to have a recurrent theme in memory loss with Roberts spending time uncovering the work she did the first season. Monae will spend the second season trying to figure out how she ended up on the boat by herself.

The “I Like That” singer is known for her roles in movies like Hidden Figures & Moonlight. She also has a movie coming out later this year called “Harriet”. Despite her movie roles, this will be her first big role on tv. However, she has a profound career in the music industry. She released an album called Dirty Computer in April 2018.

No date has been released yet for the premiere of season 2 of Homecoming but we look forward to seeing her in the upcoming seasons.
