JoJo Has Returned with a New Raw Confidence with Acoustic Track "Joanna"

Settling up with the past to open up new doors for the future, JoJo is back and “we go back a long time,” since 2004 to be exact. With pure raw honesty in combination with her powerful vocal range and ability, like honey, JoJo glides through runs and rifts with the electric acoustic guitar. JoJo sings, "You should date somebody famous, That'll probably put you on the A-list, That'll probably get you on them playlists, Stop you being so damn underrated, oh, What is goin' on, Joanna." The now, 28-year-old singer uses her latest single “Joanna” to address the trials and tribulations from her career that began in 2004. The singer has been in a legal battle with former label, Blackground Records after they withheld the release of her third studio album which resulted in a lawsuit in 2013. The track is JoJo's first since signing a deal with Warner Records. Questioning past herself, mistakes, and career in front of the world while wearing her heart on her sleeve, she openly chastises herself: “You peaked, Sorry to get deep, but Heard your story before, it's not unique, You're sounding resentful, take a seat.”

After recently switching labels, JoJo explains, "For someone to write someone off and tell them when their story ends or what's possible for them is just ridiculous. Anything is possible. You are on a path all your own – I am more confident than ever about mine." Returning with true and real talent, proving she indeed still “has the same range she did when she was 14 years old,” JoJo has shown growth both musically and emotionally. The visuals to the new track are just as powerful as the song. Directed by Se Oh-directed, “Joanna” is a short clip shot at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA, showing JoJo standing in a crowd of excided fans shouting and rushing past her for another unseen artist outside of the theater. She sings, assuring herself with a side smirk into the camera, “You should just hurry and drop your new sh*t. Hurry and drop your new sh*t", at the end of music video, hinting towards a new album.
