All Hail The QUEEN! On Tuesday October 22,2019 Queen Latifah was awarded Harvard's HIGHEST honor in the field of African and African American Studies. She recieved the W.E.B. Du Bois Medal due to her contributions to the BLACK culture. Latifah is one of the seven notable individuals who were awarded at the ceremony. The ceremony took place at Hutchins Center for African and American Research hosted by Harvard of course. Muhammand Ali, Maya Angelou, Dave Chappelle, Octavia Hudson, and Nasir "Nas" Jones are previous recipients of the medal.

The medal was named to honor W.E.B. Du Bois who was a civil rights leader and scholar who was the first black person to earn a doctoral degree in 1895 from Harvard University. According to Harvard's website "the award is given to individuals in the United States and across the globe in recognition of their contributions to African and African American culture and the life of the mind."

We're ecstatic for the Queen and her accomplishments. She's ending October spreading Black Girl Magic vibes. Congratulations to Queen Latifah again for her honor.
