It has been reported that Rihanna denied her invitation to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. Since, the star has confirmed these allegations through an interview with Vogue Magazine in their November issue.
“I couldn’t dare do that. For what? Who gains from that? Not my people,” she exclaimed. “I just couldn’t be a sellout... There’s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way.”
The decision seems to come from the loyal obligations to Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick was a former player for the San Francisco 49ers, but his career declined when he kneeled in protest of police brutality in 2016. Additionally, the protest was designed to support the racial bias faced by people of color in America. As of now, Kaepernick is still in a lawsuit against the NFL for keeping him unsigned due to his political opinion.
