Snoop Dogg Speaks On His Performance At KU

Hip-hop legend, Snoop Dogg is known for his outrageous personality. The man has always had an unapologetic approach to all his endeavors and this attitude is the same today. However, his recent performance at the University of Kansas, didn’t sit well with others.

Snoop Dogg performed at the KU Jayhawks annual Late Night in the Phog right at the Allen Fieldhouse. The night is hosted as a preseason pep rally for fans. Dogg was accompanied by his back-up dancers, who were pole dancer, and a money gun. The whole scenario is what one would expect from the unapologetic rapper. Not all the fans in attendance appreciated the performance and called it “too explicit.” Although, a video surfaced and most of the crowd looked to be having a good time.

“We apologize for the Snoop Dogg performance at Late Night… I take full responsibility for not thoroughly vetting all the details of the performance and offer my personal apology to those who were offended. We strive to create a family atmosphere at Kansas and fell short of that this evening,” spoke KU’s athletic director, Jeff Long.

There have been recent violations from the NCAA made to Long. One of them included the lack of institutional control. Many feel the timing of the performance hindered the director.

Nonetheless, Snoop Dogg is unfazed by the controversary. He went on “The Howard Stern Show” and spoke on the issue.

"When you pay for Snoop Dogg, you gonna get Snoop Dogg,” he said. "I enjoyed myself. Hung out with the basketball teams. I just think it was more the publicity of what I did. They had to cover it up. And I respect them. And I wasn't gonna put no smut on their name and say that they did anything wrong, because they invited me to come do what I do."
