Did Apple TV+ Live Up to the Hype?

We are now in the midst of the “Streaming Wars”, where every network and technology company wants to have their own streaming service. At first, Netflix and Hulu were the biggest players in the streaming world, but now companies like Apple, Disney, BET, and HBO have created their own streaming platforms and are fighting to have the most attractive app.

The long awaited Apple TV+ launched during the first week of November, and millions of people rushed to download the app and sign up for the new streaming service. Apple launched nine shows, including Dickinson, The Morning Show, See, and For All Mankind, three of which have been renewed for a second season. In order to see the new content, you must purchase the subscription, for the low price of $5 per month. In order to attract more people to the service, Apple has created various bundles, such as giving students who have Apple Music the opportunity to watch Apple TV+ free for a limited time.

Critics say that the new and exclusive platform has potential, but lacks content. In order for Apple TV+ to truly shine, they will need a plethora of original and engaging shows that surpass streaming services like Hulu, Amazon Video and Netflix. Luckily, there are nearly 30 projects that Apple TV+ is developing and will be released in the near future.
