Jhené Aiko Releases the Deluxe Version of Chilombo

With nearly a 30 song album R&B artist Jhené Akio lays down her zen roots through the release of her third studio album Chilombo. The name of the album is actually Jhene Akio’s last name. The album was released July 17th.

Artists featured on the album are Big Sean, H.E.R., Future, Miguel, Ab-Soul, Dr. Chill, Micahfonecheck, Nas, John Legend, Ty Dolla $ign, Kehlani, Mila J, Chris Brown, Snoop Dog, and Wiz Khalifa.

The album was originally released in March of 2020 on the deluxe version nine new or remixed songs were added. The Jhené Akio recorded the album in the hills of Hawaii and is said that each song represents tones of ancient bowls.

The overall theme of the album is moving on and heartbreak meshed with the soft voice and melodies of Jhené Akio creating a soothing album.

Chilombo has managed to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 200 and was also the biggest debut from a female R&B artist since Beyoncé’s Lemonade.
