The Video Music Awards (VMAs) presented by MTV is an award show to honor and acknowledge the best of the best when it comes to music videos. In 1984, the first MTV VMAs were held in New York City, at Radio City Music Hall. Flash forward and here we are commemorating the 36th annual MTV Video Music Awards which aired on Sunday, August 30th on the MTV Network, and making history with Keke Palmer being the first Black woman to solo host the MTV VMAs.
