Olympic Gold Medalist, Claressa Shields to Have Her Own Biopic!
Olympic gold medalist, Claressa Shields made history at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. She is the first American boxer to win not only one, but TWO Olympic gold medals. And this fame is not the end of Ms. Shields. According to multiple magazines and online publications such as, Vibe and The BF Daily, Shields will be receiving a narrative of her life through film.
Many are calling it the new “Hilary Swank” Million Dollar Baby star.
Shields grew up in Flint, Michigan with a pretty tough background. According to NPR, her mother had an alcohol problem and her dad was in prison until she was nine-years old. As she was growing up, she got molested by her mother’s boyfriends and has since then opened up about her fighting techniques and why she is the way she is.
When she fights, she literally fights with anger. Female boxer, Mikaela Mayer stated,
“She wants to tear her opponent apart with no mercy… it’s like every punch she throws comes from a place where she wants that respect back… in a way, she’s hitting everyone back who ever messed with her.”
Universal Pictures has the rights to produce the move, so we definitely cannot wait until the trailer gets released when finished!
