"13 Reasons Why" Renewed for Season 2

Netflix is known to have some wild series, such as Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, Narcos, and Making a Murderer. But there has been nothing like the new hit show, Thirteen Reasons Why”, why? This show hits on suicide, sexual abuse, and self mutilation among high school students; which is a very touchy subject for most, especially when it is a “Netflix series”. If you have already finished the first season, get ready for even more drama, because season 2 has just been confirmed by Netflix and one of the executive producers, Selena Gomez.

With the show having such an “uneasy” feeling for some parents [due to suicide being on an “open” format”], there has been some negativity surrounding the series. Gomez states,

“It’s going to come no matter what. It’s not an easy subject to talk about.”

The singer believes that she and producers are doing the book justice with the new series, and they plan to keep at it, to help educate young people of their actions in a “non-threatening” way in regards to parents having “the talk”. But to keep on the safe side, Netflix plans to add a viewer warning card before the first episode, and will also add a click-through link to 13ReasonsWhy.info, which contains info about suicide prevention and mental health.

“There has been a tremendous amount of discussion of our series 13 Reasons Why… While many of our members find the show to be a valuable driver for starting important conversation with their families, we have also heard concern from those who feel the series should carry additional advisories." Netflix said in a statement.

Season 2 will pick up where the 1st season left off, and will hone in on how Hannah Baker’s friends deal with healing and recovering from what happened. We also hope we figure out what happens with Mr. Porter and the tapes! So many questions that need to be answered.

We do know that the new season will still have 13 one-hour long episodes, and it will premiere in 2018. With the showing being the “most tweeted about show of 2017”, we definitely can’t wait to indulge ourselves in a new adventure.
