BRANDY RELEASED NEW SINGLE“NO TOMORROW PART 2” FT. TY DOLLA

The world-renowned name “Brandy” has been known for decades now. Brandy went from singing in church at 2 years old to landing a record deal at just 14 years of age. Born in McComb, Mississippi, she was inspired by Whitney Houston to pursue dreams of being a professional singer. Brandy’s family was very supportive of her dreams and even helped her get a position as a backup singer for the R&B group Immature, and enrolled her in Hollywood High Performing Arts Center which launched her acting career. Then, in September 1994, the world was introduced to the jaw-dropping hits "I Wanna Be Down" and "Baby” from her self-titled debut album. She became certified quadruple platinum in just two years, and then went on to also pursue a career in acting (Moesha, Disney’s Cinderella, The Game, Zoe Ever After, Star) these are just a few shows/movies where her on-screen talent can be seen. Brandy is a true powerhouse and is among the few artists to achieve all this success from starting as a teenager. Now, she has released her critically-acclaimed album, b7 (her first studio album in 8 years), which features artists like Daniel Caesar, Chance The Rapper, and her daughter Sy’rai Smith. A hit song from the album is “No Tomorrow” and on October 14, 2020, Brandy released “No Tomorrow Part 2” which features LA native singer, songwriter, and producer Ty Dolla $ign.

The new single “No Tomorrow Part 2” is a Brandy classic. It showcases her soulful melodious voice with Ty Dolla $ign adding the rich male tones, on top of a unique R&B instrumental with funky beats. They even performed this star-studded track together live at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) the same day it was released, on October 14. This song is very relatable and open, it gives off that high school bad boy crush vibes. With Brandy singing “Can you give me a minute? Yeah, real quick, While I get me some M&M's from the 7-Eleven”, “How you do it like that?, Opposites attract, When you stare at mе, I feel so beautiful, I'm gon' blow your phone up, In case thеre is no tomorrow, And I won't let you go, oh no, Like there's no tomorrow ”, then Ty Dolla $ign comes in with “Hol' up, hol' up, now wait a minute, my lady. Someone in here gon' be havin' my babies.”

Throughout the song, it appears to portray a good girl chasing a bad boy in search of love. The lyrics “Opposites attract” displays the difference between the girl in search of love, who's going to “blow” up a guy’s phone like “there's no tomorrow” and the guy who is searching for someone to “be havin' my babies.” The back and forth between these warm and vibrant vocal masters is so impactful, and they’re both so into the pocket that the flow of the song is just spectacular. This is definitely a song that will be topping the R&B charts soon enough.

As Brandy steps back into the music industry and reclaims her R&B throne, you don’t want to be out of the loop. So go listen to her latest album, b7, and her new single “No Tomorrow Part 2” on all music platforms.
