Americas Next Top Model Comes To An End!

The competition that introduced us to names such as Eva Marcille ( House of Payne, Real Husbands of Hollywood) and Yaya DaCosta (The Butler, Whitney) has officially been cancelled after 22 seasons. during this year's upfront, it was revealed that the long-running show was not renewed for its 23rd season. The cancellation was further confirmed Wednesday when creator, supermodel Tyra Banks, went to Instagram to reveal the news. The show initially premiered in May of 2003, on the now defunct UPN Network, which later became the CW in 2006 after merging with the WB. ANTM gave aspiring models ( both traditional and nontraditional ) the chance to compete for the title of "America's Next Top Model" and provided them with an opportunity to begin their careers in the modeling industry. Banks apparently agrees with the network's decision to end the show. "Thinking #ANTM #cycle22 should be our last cycle," she wrote on Instagram, "yeah, I truly believe it's time." The CW is currently in discussions about doing a retrospective special that will air sometime in 2016.
