Others, however, enter the new year with the intention of tying the knot with their long-time partner, a commitment that has significantly increased amongst Black celebrities in recent years. Keep reading to find out which Black celebrities said “I do” in 2024 and 2025 and how they celebrated their special day!

Eric Murphy and Jasmine Lawrence
Eric Murphy and Jasmine Lawrence, children of actors Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence, secretly got married during an intimate church ceremony in May of 2025. Eric Murphy’s father, Eddie Murphy, revealed their elopement on the Jennifer Hudson show two weeks after the ceremony, explaining how they were all in the process of planning for a wedding, but then the couple “decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them.” After Jasmine Lawrence posted their engagement announcement in November 2024, stating that “God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny,” it is safe to say that the children of comedy icons cannot wait to share a future together. Melanie “Mel B” Brown, former Spice Girl, got married on July 5, 2025, to longtime boyfriend Rory McPhee in London, England. McPhee paid tribute to his Scottish heritage by wearing a kilt, while the former singer wore a custom ivory wedding dress by Josephine Scott. The ceremony took place inside The Crypt of St. Paul’s Cathedral and was followed by a reception at the Shring-La The Shard, Western Europe’s tallest building. They got married again shortly after, in August 2025 at the Selman Marrakch hotel in Morocco, posting a joint Instagram post with the caption “We got married!!! Again!” I guess you can say this Spice Girl had to spice up her love life a second time. 4. Jalen Hurts and Bry Burrows
Jalen Hurts and Bryonna "Bry" Burrows had a private wedding ceremony in April 2025, which he revealed in an interview with Men’s Health by stating, “You can call her my wife.” The couple met at the University of Alabama and made their first public appearance when she joined him on the field in January 2023 to celebrate the Eagles’ NFC Championship win against the San Francisco 49ers. After their spring ceremony, they had another public one in June 2025 in Napa Valley, California, where they reportedly shut down the Four Seasons hotel from June 12 to June 15. In an interview with Good Morning America, Hurts refers to his wife as his “rock,” and clearly, their relationship will remain as solid as a rock. 5. Temi Otedola and Mr Eazi
Temi Otedola, a Nigerian actress and blogger, and Mr. Eazi, a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, tied the knot at three ceremonies across three different continents. The first ceremony, a civil ceremony, was on May 9 in Monaco at Karl Largerfield’s former home, Villa La Vigie. The second ceremony, a traditional Nigerian wedding in July, was hosted at Otedola’s family home. For their last ceremony in August, the Nigerian couple traveled to the beautiful hills of Iceland, where they wed the following day at Hallgrimskirkja Church, followed by a reception at Kliff Farm and a private afterparty at Editions Hotels' Member Only Club. The ceremony included a surprise performance by John Legend, and their wedding tour ended at the couple’s favorite spot, Iceland’s Hvammsvik Hot Springs, where everyone was able to witness the Northern Lights. Truly, their love has no bounds. 6. Michelle Young and Jack Leius
Former Bachelorette Michelle Young married sales consultant Jack Leius on June 7, 2025 in Chasaka, Minnesota, at Woodland Glasshaus at Bavaria Downs. The wedding venue was inside a glass atrium underneath a canopy of trees. Leius proposed to Young in October 2024, which the bride paid homage to by utilizing flowers that he gave her in a bouquet on the day of engagement, in her wedding bouquet. The ceremony consisted of family and friends of the couple, as well as the surprise appearance of Parlour’s food truck that served burgers to the guests. 7. Zozibini Tunzi and Luthando Bolowana
South African model and 2019 Miss Universe pageant winner, Zozibini Tunzi, married husband Luthando Bolowana on March 22, at Belair Pavilion in Cape Town, South Africa. Although keeping her relationship status away from the public eye, Tunzi eagerly posted her wedding photos the day after the ceremony, with the caption “22/03/2025” and “I love you endlessly…Husband.” Wearing a custom sheer dress decorated with beaded flowers, the former Miss Universe looked as elegant and beautiful as she did on that pageant stage! 8. Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea
On February 11, 2024, Usher married his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, in Las Vegas immediately following his Super Bowl LVII Halftime performance. The private ceremony, attended by close friends and relatives, took place at Vegas Weddings' Terrace Gazebo with the R&B singer’s mother, Jonetta Patton, serving as a witness. After the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated at Cathédrale, a restaurant in the Aria Resort and Casino, dressed in all white outfits. Congratulations Usher and Jennifer! 9. Corinne Fox and Joe Hooten
Corinne Foxx, daughter of singer, actor, and comedian Jamie Foxx, married Joe Hooten on September 21, 2024, in the backyard of her father’s estate in the Santa Monica mountains. The couple got engaged in December 2023, and Foxx announced the engagement on December 17, 2023, with romantic black-and-white photos of the couple, with the caption “from the first time I saw you, I knew you were my forever.” Although experiencing health issues in April 2023 from a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke, Jamie Foxx was able to walk his daughter down the aisle and experience this moment with her, a moment that not only solidified Foxx’s and Hooten’s new beginning but also symbolized the unbreakable bond between father and daughter. 10. Yvette Nicole Brown and Anthony Davis
Yvette Nicole Brown, 53, married actor Anthony Davis in Beverly Hills on December 14, 2024, at the Maybourne Beverly Hills in Los Angeles. Brown described the ceremony as “intimate, classy, and fun” as they were surrounded by 200 of their close friends and their mother’s spirit, making the ceremony a bittersweet moment on their special day. Brown is living proof that love does not stop at any age, encouraging women over fifty that they, too, can find their soulmate! These celebrities tied the knot with their one true love, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for each and every one of these couples. Congrats to these newlyweds!
