"Straight Outta Compton" Cast gets nominated for a SAG award!
The Road to the Oscars continue as the Straight outta Compton cast recieved a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. While the N.W.A. biopic only received one, it’s in the top category of Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, which is the SAG equivalent of the top picture of the year. he film, directed by F. Gary Gray, is up against Beasts of No Nation, The Big Short,Spotlight, and Trumbo. Elsewhere, the blockbuster has gotten nominations for the NAACP Image Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and Satellite Award. Last night, it was named Best Picture, Best Ensemble, and Best Actor (Jason Mitchell) by the African-American Film Critics Association.
“Woke up to a #SAGAwards nomination for best ensemble #StraightOuttaCompton and now I can’t go back sleep,” tweeted Mitchell, who played the late Eazy-E in the pic. “What if I’m still asleep and dreaming that I’m on here tweeting about a #SAGAwards nomination? #Inception.”
