Rocky Horror Show Set To Be FOX's Next Musical!
After FOX's huge success with Grease Live!, it looks like they are already moving on to their next hit musical, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. For those of you who don't know Rocky Horror is a cult classic, much like Grease; they even have annual Rocky Horrorconventions in varying locations where fans will dress up and act out the film in stage while the audience replies and the movie plays behind them. The story tells the tell of newly engaged couple, Brad and Janet, whose car breaks down in an isolated area and must pay a call to the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, an alien Transvestite and his castle full of characters. Trust me it's way better than it sounds. The FOX revival already has a few of its celeb stars underway. Laverne Cox (OITNB) is set to play the hit role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the transvestite mad scientist who heads the mansion, and I couldn't think of anyone better. Other names include: Nickelodeon's Victoria Justice & Goosebump's Ryan McCartan as newlyweds Brad & Janet, former X-Factor hopeful and new actor Staz Nair as the creation Rocky Horror, American Idol winner Adam Lambert as Eddie the ex-delivery boy, Tony Award winner Ben Vereen as the rival scientist, Dr. Everett Scott, Broadway actors Reeve Carney and Annaleigh Ashford as Riff Raff the Handyman and Columbia the Groupie, Pop singer/actress Christina Millian as Magenta the Maid, and Rocky Horror alum, the original Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Tim Curry as the Criminologist Narrator. The remake is being directed by Kenny Ortega, the man behind the likes of High School Musical and Disney Descendants. The Rocky Horror Picture Event is set to premiere this Fall on FOX.
