Michael Strahan Leaving "Live" for "GMA!
Michael Strahan is leaving “Live! With Kelly & Michael” to join the “Good Morning America” team full time. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan will be leaving “Live! With Kelly & Michael” for a full time position on “Good Morning America.” And he starts this September. The 44-year-old athlete turned television personality will end his 4-year run as co-host to Kelly Ripa. Before landing a full time position on “GMA,” Michael appeared on the early morning news show twice a week. He will remain a co-host on “NFL On FOX.”

In a press release, Michael sounded pretty excited about his new venture saying, “I look forward to continuing to work with the incredible team at GMA. It is an exciting opportunity to be able to bring unique stories and voices to the audience.”
He added, “My time with LIVE with Kelly and Michael has been transformative, and my departure will be bittersweet. Kelly has been an unbelievable partner, and I am so thankful to her and the entire team. I am extremely grateful for the amazing support I've received from all of the fans."
As for the rumors on who could replace Michael? Sources tell one site that CNN host Anderson Cooper, who is also one of Kelly's best friends, is in the running to be the replacement.
The source says, “Anderson Cooper is the shows top choice to replace him. Kelly adores Anderson and she is pushing hard to get him the job. He can still work at CNN but will no longer be able to travel. He had his own morning show and knows how to do this. They are trying to lock down a deal.”
We'll just have to wait and see! Congrats Michael!
