VH1 & Ice Cube Partner On Hip Hop Version Of “Hollywood Squares”
Various networks seem to be getting the memo and VH1 is one of them. VH1 has recently began to revive some of its fan favorite shows and events such as the Hip Hop Honors that saw its return earlier this month and today they just announced the revival of “Hollywood Squares” but with a twist. Starting this fall celebrity contestants will match wits and test their pop culture knowledge with the superstar squares, featuring the biggest names in hip hop, comedy, and entertainment. “Hip Hop Squares’ is going to be fun and spontaneous; unlike typical game shows, viewers should never know what’s going to happen next,” said Ice Cube, “When VH1 asked us to join the producing team, we jumped aboard as we have had success with VH1, and we love their team, excitement and commitment to the show.” No host has been named but, Ice Cube has been named as executive producer with his Cube Vision production company and Jesse Collins will act as executive producer with his company Jesse Collins Entertainment. VH1 is said to have ordered at least 20 episodes of the series and Hip Hop Squares will premiere this fall.
