Todrick Hall Struts His Way Back On To Broadway!

It was recently announced that the viral video-making phenom would soon be joining the Broadway cast of Kinky Boots as Lola. Hall is set to replace current star Alan Mingo, Jr. in the four-years-running production at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre. The multi-talented first rose to fame in 2010 when he appeared on the ninth season of American Idol, making it all the way to the Semi-Finals. Following his elimination, in 2013 he created a Christmas album entitled Dear Santa that consisted of both covers and original songs. Since then he has been a force to reckon with his various YouTube series’ and videos, often putting his own creative and modern day twists to classic tales and songs. He even manage to land a short lived docu-series on MTV titled Todrick in 2015 and is currently set to replace Ross Matthews as a main judge on the second season of RuPaul’s All Star Drag Race. Hall, who made his Broadway debut in The Color Purple and also appeared in Memphis, will begin performances as Lola on Nov. 1, for a run through March 5. Kinky Boots earned the 2013 Tony Award for Best Musical and is currently enjoying its first national tour, a West End production, and an extended run in Toronto, with an Australian production set to open this October. This is definitely the year of Toddy and we can’t wait to see what’s next for him (and if you haven’t seen his most recent Lemonade-esque visual album, Straight Outta Oz, you seriously need to go rethink your life).
