The 89th Annual Academy Awards (Full List of Winners Inside)

The 89th annual Academy Awards premiered live last night on ABC almost without a hitch. It was a drastic change from previous years as many minorities (both of color and sexuality) were the recipients of various awards this year, many of which used their platforms to speak out against the injustices of Donald Trump and his war against minorities. While La La Land may have went home with the most awards films such as Moonlight swept the competition, even ultimately gaining the biggest and final award of the night after "accidentally" losing out to La La Land for Best Picture (which we still are curious to know how the mishap occurred if Emma Stone herself admitted to holding her card the whole time). Other huge historical wins went to Mahershala Ali for being the first Muslim Actor to ever win an Oscar with his win for Best Supporting Actor and to Viola Davis who is now one Grammy away from becoming an EGOT. This year's show was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel who supplied jokes, candy, and continued his on going rivalry with actor Matt Damon. View the full list of winners below:
