Houston Astros Win First World Series in Franchise History


The Houston Astros waited 55 years for a World Series championship and finally the wait is over! Just weeks after one of the most devastating hurricanes hit Texas, the city of Houston bounced backed like never before showing the world just what it means to be #HoustonStrong. On Wednesday night during game 7, the Houston Astros lead a 5-1 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, concluding to one of the most thrilling Fall Classics in history. It’s true when they say everything’s bigger in Texas as fans in Houston cheered on their home team at a live watch party at Minute Maid Park; causing an uproar on the town. Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, went on to declare Nov. 3rd as Houston Astros day in the state. HISD and local schools even got the day off to celebrate the cities victory at the parade. Fans graced the streets wearing their favorite gear to cheer on their Astros as the team rode through town holding the championship trophy.
