Serena Williams Lands HBO Docu-Series "Being Serena"
You may know her as the dynamic duo alongside her twin sister Venus, as one of the most dominant players in the tennis industry, or from all of her remarkable achievements from her career. The grand slam winner Serena Williams has decided to give us a look into her life. Her debut documentary, “Being Serena”, is coming to HBO in a five-part series. Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Serena shows us how she has risen to success and her many obstacles along the way.
The docu-series is set to showcase her pregnancy, her return to the tennis court, the birth of her child, and her new marriage. Speaking of her pregnancy, the very first episode will document her pregnancy with the full scope of details, including the moment she found out while competing in the 2017 Australian Open. At first, Serena was leery as to whether she would compete or not but after receiving the O.K. from her doctor, she decided to proceed in the competition (of which she won as well). I mean she’s a winner so we kind of expected it. In the docu-series, we will also get to hear from Venus as she gives her take on her sister’s pregnancy, while also joking that the competition was unfair due to having a teammate (her then unborn daughter). It’s nice to see that through the sisters have went their separate ways, career wise, that they can still joke around with sisterly love.
As the series has yet to premiere, we don’t know the full scoop on every episode so be sure to watch. But, as the tea brews, we’ll be sure to pass it along to you!
