2018 Honorable Music

The 3rd annual Black Music Honors will be returning to Nashville, Tennessee August 16, 2018. Rickey Smiley and Letoya Luckett will be hosting again this year. This show will be honoring Bobby Brown, who is receiving the R&B Soul Music Icon Award for his 40 years of entertainment, Bebe and CeCe Winans who will be the co-honorees of the Gospel Music Icon Award, Dallas Austin who is a label executive and a producer of chart-topping music will be presented with the Music Innovator Icon Award, and lastly Faith Evans who is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning artist, songwriter, and producer, is set to receive the Urban Music Icon Award. Whodini and Stephanie Mills are also being honored.

These music pioneers are a staple in the music industry and are the reason why music sounds the way it is today. Don Jackson, CEO of Central City Productions spoke on the award show’s vision, “The Black Honors is to recognize the trailblazers in African American music who have paved the way for the artists of today. Many of these artists have never received their much-deserved recognition.” If the honorees aren’t enough, the performance line up is crazy, Doug E. Fresh, Donnie McClurkin, Jade Novah, Keyshia Cole, Yo Yo, Young Buck and more. Though the show will be live Thursday, August 16th at 7 pm, the show is set to air on television on September 8-30, 2018. Be sure to tune into the Black Music Honors.
