Soul Train Winners!

Let’s talk about NOT surprising. The winners of the 2018 Soul Train Awards surely shouldn’t have caught you off guard. These women and men have been doing their thing since the year started, and even before then. They did what had to be done. Ella Mai took home 3 awards this year, “Best R&B Soul Female”, “Song of the Year”, and the “Songwriter Award”. Did I mention she beat Beyonce for “Best R&B Soul?” I’m sorry Bey Hive. Make room! Coming behind Ella with two awards are H.E.R and Bruno Mars. H.E.R received the “Album of the Year” and also the best collaboration with Daniel Caesar. Let’s not forget to mention Daniel Casar won “Best New Artist.” In the spiritual and inspirational half of the show, Lecrae was given the award for “Best Gospel Award.” The hit song “In My Feelings” is the “Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year” according to the voters. Once again, let’s talk about how not surprising that is. Ledisi was given the “Centric Certified” award, while Faith Evans was given the “Lady of Soul,” and Erykah Badu was finally given the “Legend” award. Let me ask one question … are we really surprised? We see yall!
