Spike Lee’s 3x Oscar Nomination for New Controversy Film

Shelton Jackson "Spike" Lee is an American film director, producer, writer, and actor. His production company, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, has produced over 35 films since 1983. Lee is one the most respected film maker in today’s industry; not only he produces and direct he also plays in his own films as well. Spike Lee has done extraordinary popular movies such as Jungle Fever, Inside Man, Love and Basketball, The Best Man, and also did a segment for the King of Pop Michael Jackson’s video.

Born and raised in Atlanta Georgia, Spike creates movies off his ethnicity of learning and educating the community that has been looked at the best stand point for african americans. He also is respected by companies because of his genius brain to produce and direct films that are looked at in different perspectives just like Jungle Fever. The movie is about a married black lawyer named Flipper (Wesley Snipes) begins an affair with Angie (Annabella Sciorra), his white secretary. When the news is leaked through an acquaintance, Flipper's wife (Lonette McKee) kicks him out of the house. Flipper decides to begin courting his mistress, only to be greeted by disapproval from friends, family and even strangers. The relationship continues to be strained in a society not ready to accept it, and people are hurt during its inception. This movie caused a lot of controversy because at the time of a black man being in loved with a white woman was not a good look. But that's not the only movie that turned heads.

Spike Lee’s New film that was released in August 2018 is now getting a lot of feedback and the feedback is unbelievable. Spike Lee comes the incredible true story of an American hero. It’s the early 1970s, and Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) is the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, Stallworth bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. The young detective soon recruits a more seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), into the undercover investigation of a lifetime. Together, they team up to take down the extremist hate group as the organization aims to sanitize its violent rhetoric to appeal to the mainstream. Produced by the team behind the Academy-Award® winning Get Out.

This movie earned Spike Lee 3 Oscar Nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Power to my Black Brother may he keep striving!!
