ALL STAR WEEKEND TAKES CHARLOTTE !


This weekend is one of the BIGGEST weekends in sports, All Star Weekend. Now, the NBA wouldn’t be the NBA if they didn’t have a little entertainment would they? With J. Cole set to headline the All Star Game Halftime show and Meek Mill introducing the All Star teams, it was a BOLD but NEEDED statement. Meek Mill was an excellent choice with the release of his exceptional new album Champions and recent project with fellow rapper Jay Z to work on prison reform. J. Cole will be sure to hit on some topics that make a few think and re-evaluate and it will be sure to not disappoint.

On Friday, February 15th, the fan awaited weekend will kick off with the Celebrity All Star Game presented by Ruffles. Representing the home team will be Luke Cage actor, Mike Colter; recording artist Chris Daughtry;

actor and on air host Terrence J; social media personality and comedian Famous Los; TV personality Dr. Oz; NEEDTOBREATHE vocalist and musician Bo Rinehart; actor and comedian JB Smoove; NFL legend Steve Smith; 2018 WNBA Rookie of the Year A’ja Wilson; ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Williams; and hometown hero Jason Weinmann. Playing for the Away team is the Director of Marketing at 2K Sports Ronnie 2K; Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Ray Allen; SEAL Team actor Aj Buckley; WNBA’s Chicago Sky Stefanie Dolson; co-owner of Milwaukee Bucks Marc Larsy; actor and comedian Hasan Minhaj; Migos member and last year’s MVP Quavo; comedian Adam Ray; actor comedian, recording artist Amanda Seales; comedian Brad Williams; and hometown hero James Shaw Jr.

Following the Celebrity All Star game is the Rising Stars Challenge. The game features some of the top Rookies and second year players in the NBA. Team USA will feature Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz; Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks Marvin Bagley of the Sacramento KIngs and Kyle Kumza of the Los Angeles Lakers. Team World will feature DeAndre Ayton representing the Bahamas (Phoenix Suns); Luka Doncic representing Slovenia (Dallas Mavericks); Ben Simmons representing Australia (Philadelphia 76ers); Josh Okogie representing Nigeria ( Minnesota Timberwolves) and Lauri Markenen representing Finland (Chicago Bulls).

Saturday is filled with some of the more exciting events. Kicking off the day is the NBA All Star Practice and Media Day. The media will begam at 9 am and the official practice of the weekend. Stars get a chance to interact with fans and speak with journalist about the midpoint of the NBA season. Following the practice will be the Lunch W a Legend which will have guest appearances from NBA legends George “Iceman” Garvin and Dominque Wilkins. Next,. Is the State Farm All Star Saturday Night. Starting the night, will be the Taco Bell Skills Challenge. Participating is Memphis Grizzlies Mike Conley; Luka Doncic Dallas Mavericks; De’Aaron Fox Sacramento Kings’ Nikola Jokic Denver Nuggets; Kyle Kumza Los Angeles Lakers; Jayson Tatum Boston Celtics; Nikola Vucevic Orlando Magic and Trae Young Atlanta Hawks.
