Stars Attend MET Gala 2019
It’s the season where your favorite celebrities takes on the red carpet for the 2019 Met Gala. The Met Gala has been in the works since 1946 as it’s known to be the Super Bowl of Fashion. This year’s Met Gala theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion”. The 2019 Met Gala was co-chaired by Serena Williams, Lady Gaga, Anna Wintour, Alessandro Michele, and Harry Styles. On the first Monday in May all of your favorite superstars come together to rock out their changing theme of fashion. Like every year there’s a mix of best dressed and the worst looks to hit the carpet. Celebrities who graced the runway ranges form the Kardashians clan to someone’s favorite Wakanda member Lupita Nyong’o. Let’s get into the stylish looks that were worn by the co-chairs of this years Met Gala. Serena Williams paired her bright yellow and floral Versace gown with a pair of Off- White x Nike sneakers. Lady Gaga wore many looks that night. She entered the pink carpet in a long fuchsia dress which had an extended tail; a group of men holding black umbrellas. She then removed the fuchsia material and showed us her black asymmetrical neckline and side bustle. That look then revealed a strapless hot pink dress. Her last look we're glitter black undergarments as she dragged along a wagon of what appeared to be wine. At the point Lady Gaga stole the show. Harry Styles was dressed in Gucci sheer lace top, black trousers, heeled shoes and dangling pearl earring in one ear. Vogue’s very own Anna Wintour wore a custom pink and a black floral beaded cape Chanel dress from the late creative director Karl Lagerfeld, who Wintour said he actually designed her dress before his death. Gucci’s Alessandro Michele brought the Gucci gang out; he wore a pink ruffled long sleeve top paired with pink pants.
Entertainer Billy Porter’s Ancient Egypt theme entrance left many
speechless. He entered the red carpet being carried by six shirtless men as he was dripped in gold to recreate the idea of the Egyptian Sun God. On the other hand KimYe basic looks landed them on the worst dressed list. Kanye wore a black boring zip up jacket and jeans which paired with Kim’s basic nude dress. In her defense Kim told E! her dress was a custom Thierry Mugler creation.Rihanna didn’t graced the Met Gala this year but she still named took to Instagram to name who she think was best dressed. Last year's’ co-host and annual mainstays Rihanna believed the Vogue editor-in-chief and Met Gala co-chair Anna Wintour earned best dressed that evening. Frank Ocean was asked specifically by Vogue to help capture candid shots for the 2019 Met Gala. Jennifer Lopez and her fiancé Alex Rodriguez also walked the pink carpet. British model Naomi Campbell was styled in a lilac Valentino Couture gown paired with a feather cape. To me, I feel as though KimYe were dressed for a dinner party not the illustrious Met Gala.
