Lucky Daye’s “Painted” Album

Louisiana native, Lucky Daye released his anticipated album Painted earlier this summer in late May. The album features tracks with refreshing, funky sounds and harmonies that are perfect for a summer road trip. With 13 tracks on the album, somehow Lucky Daye managed to make each one versatile in its own way. After listening to the album repeatedly for weeks, it can be confirmed that this is a “No-Skip” album. It is very rare to want to listen to an album completely all the way through, but this is one to add to the collection.

Lucky Daye grew up being inspired by artists like Rick James, Prince, and Stevie Wonder. After being eliminated from Season 4 of American Idol, he stuck to being behind the scenes and writing music for various artists such as Ella Mai, Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Mary J. Blige, In October of 2018, he signed to RCA and released his first single and most popular hit yet, “Roll Some Mo.” He recently performed this same song on the Nissan Music Stage at the 2019 BET Awards. However, “Roll Some Mo” is not the only hit on the album. Other top charting songs from Painted include “Karma” and “Real Games.” This album ensures that Lucky Daye is taking the initiative to help bring back classic R&B music with his use of live band instrumentals, the harmonies, and heartfelt lyrics. The album does not contain any features from other artists, but Lucky Daye’s singing and rapping abilities made it unnecessary to have any. Needless to say, listening to this album was an hour worth spent. “Painted” is available on all streaming platforms. If you’re still not convinced that Lucky Daye is the next big thing, check out his most recent music video for his song “Real Games” below!
