Viola Davis Takes On The Role Of Michelle Obama in series "First Ladies"
Academy award winning actress Viola Davis has quickly taken Hollywood by storm. The actress will be taking on the role of portraying Michelle Obama. The drama series show will be airing on showtime displaying the lives of former first ladies of the United States.
Last year, the Obamas signed a multi-year deal with Netflix. Their first documentary for the streaming platform “American Factory,” which debuted in August. In 2016, the actress Tika Sumpter played former first lady, Michelle Obama in the movie called “Southside With You.” A biographical romantic drama about the former first lady first date with Barack Obama. The story captured a recap of the time the Obama’s took the time to get to know each other, way before they took office in the White house.
The new drama series, called “First Ladies” is the first acting job that Viola Davis booked since the famous series “How To Get Away With Murder” has announced it will be ending after its last season. Mrs. Davis and her husband are involved in producing the new drama series “First Ladies.” Her husband, Julius Tennon is also an executive producer of the project and series “First Ladies.”
