Chris Brown & Young Thug Release Joint-Mixtape, Titled “Slime & B”
R&B sensation and legend Chris Brown and rap super-star Young Thug have teamed up to release a joint-mixtape called Slime & B. The release consists of an R&B sound where both Brown and Thug can be heard singing and rapping on multiple tracks. Both artists can be heard expressing emotions about past feelings on tracks like “Stolen” and “I Ain’t Tryin”. They also added some “turn-up” music with songs like “Big Slimes” featuring Gunna and Lil Duke. Despite being deemed an unusual collaboration by the mainstream media, Brown and Thug released the project on May 5; which is also Brown’s birthday.
Chris Brown is a Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter and actor who signed his first record deal at 15-years-old. His debut single “Run It” peaked at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in late 2005. Ever since, Brown has dominated the charts, radio waves, and retained a significant fanbase over the last 15 years. He made his first acting appearance in the box-office hit, Stomp the Yard, in 2007. He has since made appearances in other hit movies such as This Christmas (2007), Takers (2010), and Think Like a Man (2012). Young Thug hit the music scene in the early 2010s with a series of mixtapes (Slime Season, Beautiful Thugger Girls, etc.). He brought his own sound to the trap music game and is notably known for his different sound, style, and persona. Thug joined Gucci Mane’s 1017 Brick Squad in 2012, where he would release 1017 Thug the following year. His single from that project, “Stoner” peaked on the charts in 2014 with help from remixes by artists like Wale. Thug has worked with top artists like Kanye West, Future, Travis Scott, and more. He continues to dominate the music industry, as does Chris Brown, and together they have just released their new mixtape: Slime & B! Make sure you check it out!
