Come Together!

Grammy Award Winner Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins does it again releasing his new single “Come Together” featuring gospel artists from different cultures and age groups.

Along with Jerkins, artists that were featured in this single are: Tim Bowman, Jr., Joy Enriquez, Kirk Franklin, Kelontae Gavin, Fred Hammond, Heavenly Joy, Le’Andria Johnson, Lecrae, Mary Mary, Jac Ross, Marvin Sapp, Karen Clark Sheard, Kierra Sheard, and Shelby 5.

The message of the song is ultimately in the title “Come Together” during the trying times that the world is going through at the moment and put it in a higher powers hands. Although this song is about coming together due to Coronavirus taking lives of people around the world it’s perception can be altered through the recent actions of police brutality in America. Along with the message a portion of the proceeds from the music will go to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Along with the song there was a music video released that featured all of the artists, dancers, and other people. Due to the social distancing protocol however the video was put together with short clips of all who participated.

“Come Together” was written by Jerkins and LaShawn “Big Shiz” Daniels who died last year. The song was released April 24th and the video was released on May 1st.
