BMI Host Virtual Musical Celebrations for Black Music Month

Broadcast Music, Inc or known as BMI will be hosting three days geared to the celebration of Black Music Month. Following social distancing protocols and recommendations BMI decided to have virtual performances by gospel artists John P Kee, Vashawn Mitchell, and Jonathan McReynolds.

BMI has been around for 80 years and in those years have dedicated service to music rights management. In return BMI has provided for songwriters, composers, music publishers and businesses helping over 15 million musical creations in multiple genres. In 1939 they were direct advocates for blues, jazz, country, and American roots music as being the only performing rights organization to represent those genres.

June 22nd gospel artist and pastor John P Kee performed on BMI’s youtube channel singing and playing the piano. He performed “Jesus is Real” and a few more songs in the virtual Jam session.

Vashawn Mitchell performed on June 24th singing one of his most popular songs “Turning Around for Me” along with a few other songs. He was joined with other singers virtually for the performance.

The last artist will be Jonathan McReynolds performing June 26th on YouTube.

Be on the lookout for all performances on BMI’s YouTube channel to see the performances from these artists.
