BET’s Season 10 Sunday Best Winner

Sunday Best is an American Gospel singing competition on BET hosted by Kirk Franklin with world-renowned judges from Yolanda Adams to Donnie McClurkin. Due to COVID-19, this year’s series took place virtually with all artists performing in the nature of their own homes. On Sunday, August 23 it was down to 19-year-old Jada Spight and 45-year-old Stephanie Summers. But, before they took the stage the 2020 Sunday Best season 10 finale was opened by the marvelous Clark Sisters, then the Judges were introduced, and a recap of the finalists’ journeys was played. After, they collaborated on Phil Thompson’s “My Worship” leaving the judges in awe which was then followed by season 9 Sunday Best winner Melvin Crispell III with “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye, Kierra Sheard took the spotlight with “It Keeps Happening” from her album KIERRA. 2020 Sunday Best judge Jonathan McReynolds joined Mali Music to perform “Movin’ On” from his latest album People, 2020 Sunday Best judge Erica Campbell performed her own single “You Are.” Which was then followed by Dorinda Clark-Cole and Le’Andria Johnson giving the finalists some helpful tips and words of encouragement then it was time for the moment everyone had been waiting for… AND THE WINNER IS… commercial break. Back from the break, both ladies were surrounded by family and friends when Kirk Franklin stated “America, The person you've chosen to be the winner of season 10 Sunday Best is… Stephanie Summers.” Summers took the stage one last time to perform “Healing” by Richard Smallwood as the crowned winner of Sunday Best season 10.

Stephanie Summers won America’s heart with her powerful and soulful voice there was no denying she was a veteran when it came to gospel music. She has opened up for Dorinda Clark-Cole, Pastor John P. Kee, and more. However, after losing her best friend, father, and being homeless for a little while her music career was put on hold. She has now taken charge of her life and is living proof that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Along with the title of season 10 Sunday Best winner she will receive a recording contract with RCA Inspiration, a prize of $50,000, and an opportunity to be a featured performer on the McDonald’s Inspiration Gospel Tour.

With her recent win on Sunday Best Stephanie Summers is clearly on the rise so make sure to keep up with her on all social media/musical platforms. Her latest song is a collaboration with C.Reginald Summers called “Pursue” which is available on all musical platforms.
