Tyler Perry’s New Original Series Has Hit The Big Screen: BET+ Divorced Sistas


Tyler Perry, a decorated African American writer, producer, director, and actor, has done it again. Known for the creation of his “Madea” character, Perry has produced yet another television series that is now streaming on BET+ for viewers to enjoy. According to BET+, “Divorced Sistas” an extension of his series “Sistas,” focuses on five friends: Rasheeda, Geneva, Naomi, Tiffany, and Bridgette, who utilize their sisterhood to support and strengthen one another through various hardships, such as divorce, marriage, dating, healing and loyalty. The first episode was released to viewers on June 10, 2025, with the remaining seven quickly following after in weekly intervals.

The show wastes no time diving into the lives of these five women as they navigate various challenges that test their friendships and their relationships. The trailer reveals how the show circulates around themes of loyalty, infidelity, and heartbreak, with the main characters expressing their emotions through tears, arguments, and violent confrontations.

Viewers have greatly supported the premiere of Divorced Sistas, as the show has reached record-breaking numbers, while consisting of only eight episodes. According to Paramount+, its premiere has been recognized as the most-watched premiere of any series since BET+ first launched in September 2019. The platform has generated a total of 415,000 new subscription starts and has been ranked as the third most successful series launch in platform history. Across social media, Divorced Sistas has rallied support in the form of video views and minutes watched, accumulating 46.8 million video views and 23.4 million minutes watched across all BET social media platforms. Fans of the hit series have even posted their immense love for the show through various appreciation posts with “#Divorced Sistas" in the description. 


The show and its fans will be around for a long time, as it is speculated that the other half of the season is set to be released in the fall of this year. Those who love the Sistas universe, or drama films altogether, now have a new series to watch and indulge in, created by the Madea himself, Tyler Perry!
