Taraji P. Henson to Star in ‘Proud Mary’ Action Film

Taraji P. Henson has landed a leading role in yet another movie, only this time she’s getting down and dirty.

Taraji is playing a sexy, scandalous and vibrant assassin in ‘Proud Mary’. The official trailer opens with her doing kettlebell push-ups and freshening up to strapping on all-black leather thigh high boots with an all-black leather jacket and gloves to match. In the midst of her daily life, she’s battling off what seems to be the antagonist shooting a variety of guns and going on high speed chases. She’s taking care of business with the switch of a wig.

This is Taraji like we’ve never seen before taking on the role of a black female action hero. This is exactly what the film industry needs as it has been lacking a few key elements such as female empowerment, African American characters, and good quality as a whole. ‘Proud Mary premieres January 12th.
