Stranger Things Season 2: Scores Big!

The premiere of the highly anticipated second season of the Netflix Series Stranger Things went viral on social media.

On October 27, 2017, the long-awaited season 2 of Stranger Things premiered on Netflix. The numbers are huge, with over 15.8 million views streamed for episode one by its third day being out. Over 11 million viewers are adults between the ages of 18-49.

The highly acclaimed television show is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, the first season focuses on the investigation into the disappearance of a young boy amid supernatural events occurring around the town including the appearance of a girl with psychokinetic abilities who helps the missing boy’s friends in their own search.

Stranger Things is one of the most watched shows on Netflix. The show is known for being inclusive and keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Many people at North Carolina A&T also participated in binge-watching Stranger Things 2. Jade Woodward, a sophomore Bio-Engineering student, said “I love the show so much because it is unpredictable and action filled. Also, it is a refreshing storyline that strays away from the cliche scripts of other action-drama televisions.” In light of the premiere, Snapchat created a story for viewers around the world to share their reactions as they watched the new season.

At the conclusion of its second season, Stranger Things offers up a distorted version of the classic fairy tale ending: our heroes dancing together in a rare and well-earned moment of pure innocence, swaying at the Snow Ball, reunited with long-lost friends and new ones alike — all while the vicious Mind Flayer looms large in the Upside Down, towering over Hawkins, its next steps unknown.
