Is Drake Lying About His Absent Father To Make Money?

Drake is one of the most popular hip hop artists of all time, and he doesn’t shy away from talking about his father, Dennis Graham, and his absence while growing up. During his song, “Look What You’ve Done” Drake addresses how his dad was not around and did not pay child support by saying, “And my father living in Memphis now, he can’t come this way. Over some minor charges and child support. That just wasn’t paid, damn. Boo-hoo, sad story—black American dad story.” He has also mentioned how Dennis Graham did not fulfill his promises in the song “0 to 100” with the lyrics: “I was ready… fuck that, I’ve been ready. Since my dad used to tell me. He was comin' to the house to get me. He ain’t show up. Valuable lesson, man, I had to grow up. That’s why I never ask for help”

Recently, Drake’s father did a radio interview with Nick Cannon on Power 106, and said that his son was only saying those things because Drake was trying to sell more of his music. Dennis Graham said, “I have always been with Drake. I talk to him if not every day, every other day,” but the rapper still insists that his father is lying. The following day, Drake posted a black background on his Instagram with the following caption: “Woke up today so hurt man. My father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him. It’s sad when family gets like this but what can we really do that’s the people we are stuck with… every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept.”

Drake is sticking to his story and so if his father, the only person would can confirm either claim is Drake’s mom, Sandi Graham, and she is keeping quiet on these claims.
