Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter and producer Rudy Currence just released his latest single “I Belong Here” on May 22nd. On the day of its release, in reference to the single, Currence posted on Instagram saying “My heart is full. This song that God gave me a few years ago is
finally available for ALL the World to hear!! Even in the time where I doubted myself and felt unworthy, God still saved me a place. Now I know for myself that #iBelongHere.” The gospel lyrics definitely come through strong and positive during this time of uncertainty, saying “There
is a place for me in the body of Christ… And I belong here”. Currence is a well-known gospel singer who has also created music in R&B ( and rap). He is a native of Rock Hill, SC and has been present in the music industry since the early 2000s. Currence has written songs for stars like Mya, Ray-J, and Quincy Jones. One of his most notable career moments stems from his contributions to Lecrae’s Gravity album, which received a Grammy and a Dove award. His 2017 single, “Testimony”, reached the Top 20 on the gospel radio chart in addition to his 2018 single, “Send Me I’ll Go”, reaching over 6 million views on YouTube.
